Usually I try to get my roundup posts done on Fridays so I am a little late getting this one done. I started it on Friday if that counts. This week has been kind of crazy, it was the last week of school for my kids so summer break has officially started for us. One of the first things that comes to mind when I think of summer is the 4th of July. I have been working on a couple of 4th of July projects that I will share soon but in the meantime I thought it would be fun to share a few free crochet patterns that I found online. It is crazy to think that the 4th is less than a month away already, but that should be enough time to make some patriotic crochet projects. Here are 8 free patterns to celebrate the 4th of July, click the pictures or the titles to go to the patterns.
1. Patriotic Bunting
I thought I would start of with some decor, first is this patriotic bunting. It is available as a free download on Ravelry.
2. Star Spangled Banner
Another patriotic banner, this one is made of stars. This free pattern is available from My Merry Messy Life.
3. American Flag Wreath
Loking for something to hang on your door? Try this American Flag Wreath from Petals to Picots.
4. Patriotic Pillow
This red, white and blue pillow is available from Red Heart. They also have some fun patriotic afghans and other decor.
5. American Flag Afghan
The pattern for this American Flag Afghan from Lion Brand is available on their website or on All Free Crochet.
6. Red White and Baby Blanket
This patriotic baby blanket pattern was created as part of a project to help military families. Find the pattern on Moogly.
7. Captain America Coasters
I had to throw something kind of geeky in here and if you are looking for something geeky and patriotic Captain America is the obvious choice. Ahooka Amigurumi teaches a great way to crochet a star inside of a circle and shares the pattern for these Captain America Coasters.8. American Flag Dishcloth
Last but not least is a fun dishcloth or washcloth pattern shaped like a flag. Crocheted in a ripple pattern it looks a little like a flag blowing in the wind. You can find the the free pattern on Being Spiffy or there is an option to pay a small fee to download the PDF version of the pattern.
I am excited to share some of my own patriotic patterns in the next couple of weeks. Until then I hope you enjoy these patterns and find some inspiration in this patriotic crochet roundup.
