As one of their Master Makers Fairfield World provided me with the interfacing used in this project as well as compensating me for this post, but all ideas and opinions are my own.
My 7 year old daughter has been obsessed with Paris lately. Every time she sees something with the Eiffel Tower on it she points it out to us and starts talking about how much she wants to go to Paris someday. It all started when she got an American Girl Doll for Christmas. I had always been pretty against the idea of spending that much on a doll but fell in love with last year's Girl of the Year doll, Grace, because just like her Grace loves baking. She has always dreamed of having a bakery when she grows up. We ended up deciding to splurge on a Grace doll for her for Christmas and she absolutely loved it. Well, it turns out that in her story Grace also went to France where, I think her grandparents, have a french bakery. The doll comes with a shirt that has the Eiffel Tower on it and I think a lot of the accessories that you can get have a French theme, things like berets and bistro sets. So now we have a little girl who loves everything about Paris and Grace, she even told me the other day that she wishes we had named her Grace.

My Favorite Quick and Easy Baby Blanket
The last couple of months I haven't been posting quite as much as I had planned or would have liked but I actually have a pretty good reason for that. It turns out that we decided not to stop with 5 little monsters and number 6 is on its way. I am about 16 weeks pregnant with baby number 6 and even though I wouldn't say it has been a terribly difficult pregnancy so far I have been exhausted and not been feeling great for the past couple of months. As a result I was kind of just doing the bare minimum on my blog because I just didn't feel up to much more than that. Now that the first trimester is behind me and I am starting to feel a little more like a normal person again I feel like I want to start blogging more, just don't be surprised if there is a lot of baby stuff in the near future.

Fabric and Crochet Zipper Bag
I have a new project up on the Fairfield World site. I wanted to try something that used both sewing/fabric and crochet so this little zipper bag is the project that I came up with. It is kind of a clutch size bag, about 5 1/2" x 9". It could also be used as a pencil bag or maybe to hold makeup or any other little things you need to put somewhere. Maybe it could even be used to hold crochet hooks, scissors, needles, etc.
Creative Craft Roundup #1
I recently joined up with group of a few other craft bloggers and one of the things that we wanted to do is start up a link party where you can link up your craft projects and share them with all of us. We will choose some of our favorites to be featured the following week. So welcome to our very first Creative Craft Bloggers GroupLink Party, I can't wait to see your projects. Keep reading for more information and rules.
Quick and Easy Valentine's Day Shirt
This project was super quick and easy so even though Valentine's Day is only a few days away, and school parties are even sooner, there is still time to make one. My oldest daughter has been asking me to make her a Valentines outfit for a while. As we were getting ready to leave for church last Sunday she was insisting that she needed a Valentine skirt to wear. She didn't get one, but I made this shirt for her instead. I used a little bit of gold heat transfer vinyl that I already had and I bought a $3 pink shirt from Walmart so in addition to only taking a few minutes to make it was also really inexpensive. I played around with a few different designs but ended up deciding that just one big heart was going to be the easiest and look the best. I don't have a cutting machine, if you do it would probably be just as easy to do a more complicated design, but since I was just cutting it by hand I wanted to keep it simple. My middle daughter saw it and insisted that she needed a heart shirt too, so I ended up running back to Walmart to get another $3 pink shirt in her size. I still need to make that one but since it only takes a few minutes to make I know I can get it done before Thursday when she has her school party.

Crocheted Puffy Hearts
I know Valentine's Day is coming up soon but last week I made these quick crocheted puffy hearts. I had been wanting to try it for a while but I was a little nervous about trying to get the shape right. I don't know if these are the most perfect crocheted hearts ever but I was pretty happy with the way they turned out.

Black, White and Gold Valentine Pillow
I know, another Valentine pillow. Three in a row is probably a little much but I promise this is the last one. The last two I made for a couple of my girls, this time I was trying to go for a little bit more of a grown up look. Something I could put out on my couch or somewhere like that. It will still most likely end up on one of the girls beds because that is what seems to always happen but, oh well. I guess that at least means that they like the stuff I make.

Crochet Hearts Pillow
I recently joined up with a group of craft bloggers and one of the things we are doing as a group is a monthly craft challenge. It is kind of fun to be given a theme and to see what everyone comes up with. For February the theme of the challenge was hearts, a pretty fitting theme for February I think and for my project I made this crochet hearts pillow. Below you can see all of the fun heart projects that the group came up with along with links to each of the projects.
