Celebrating National Outdoor Month with LEGO and a Free Cut File

-This post sponsored by LEGO, all ideas and opinions are my own-

Did you know June is National Outdoor Month? I didn't until LEGO asked me if I would like to celebrate National Outdoor Month with them. It totally makes sense though, June is usually the beginning of summer break from school, the weather is still usually pretty decent, warm but not too hot. Basically, just a good time to get outside and spend some time outdoors.

Creativity is Messy Apron and Free SVG

A few weeks ago I participated in an apron design contest where we were given a blank canvas apron and we could decorate it in any way we wanted. I decided to make mine more of a craft apron rather than a cooking apron and I knew I wanted to add some words or a design of some kind with iron on. I ended up coming up with a design that said "Creativity is Messy" that I ironed on the front of the apron after splattering it with fabric paint.

Smiling Sun Amigurumi

A few weeks ago I made a set of dishcloths with some Red Heart Scrubby Smoothie in yellow, orange, and pink. After I finished I still had probably about a half a skein of each color left. The colors reminded me of bright, sunny, summer days so I decided what better to make then a little smiling sun.

Waffle Sundaes with Hot Fudge and Peanut Butter Sauce

One of my memory from my childhood that I have always remembered is a time when I was probably about 11 years old and one of my church leaders "kidnapped" me and the other girls in my church group, with prior permission from our parents of course, and brought us all to our house for a fun breakfast party. One of the things that I remember very clearly is what we ate. We had waffles for breakfast but instead of regular waffles with syrup we had waffle sundaes. I guess the reason the memory stands out to me is, how often as a kid did you get to eat ice cream for breakfast? It was pretty awesome.

Personalized Water Bottles

Summer Camp Season is in full swing at our house. Our kids have day camps through their school as well as through a community center and so far we have had a camp of some kind every week since school got out. This week our 4 oldest have all had camp. Next week it will be Cub Scout day camp for our 8 year old. They need to bring water bottles with them each time whether for lunch or just to have with them throughout the day, and with lots of kids at the camps everything needs to be labeled with their names.

Blush Baby Bonnet

-Product for this post provided by Appalachian Baby, all opinions and ideas are my own. This post may contain affiliate links.-

A few weeks ago I was sent some yarn to review from Appalachian Baby. It was kind of fun to try out something new and the colors were so soft and pretty, perfect for a baby. The first thought that popped into my head when I saw it was baby bonnet, so that is what I decided to make and now I am sharing the pattern with you.

Pop Blocks Baby Blanket

For a while now I have been wanting to try making a blanket with two colors of the striped cake yarns (Caron Cakes, Bernat Pop, Lion Brand Mandala, etc) alternating colors each row or round. I thought it would be kind of fun to see how the color changes happened between the two colors. I finally got around to actually trying it and this blanket is the result.
