The welcome sign that I have had hanging on my door was starting to seem a little too spring or summery now that the weather is turning colder, the leaves are starting to fall, and it actually feels like fall is here.
I still had some canvas banners left over from other projects that I have done in the past (like this Thanksgiving project, this Christmas one, and this winter one) so I grabbed one of those and made a fall wall/door hanging.
I cut the phrase "Welcome Fall" out of Iron on and a bunch of colorful fall leaves out of felt.
I decided where I wanted the words and pressed them. Then I just played around with the leaves, moving them around until I was happy with the way it all looked. Once I was happy with the placement I glued the leaves all in place.
One of my favorite things to use my Cricut Maker for is to cut felt. It cut all of the leaves in no time at all and they were way more perfect and detailed than I could have cut by hand, however, the stems on some of the leaves were really thin and either were cut off or just pulled off as I handled the leaves. It wasn't a huge deal to me, I just either left them off or kept them and glued them in place so you couldn't even tell, but it is something to be aware of.
How to Make a Welcome Fall Banner
You will need:
- Pre-made canvas banner
- Cricut Maker with rotary blade
- Cricut EasyPress
- EasyPress Mat
- Cricut Iron On Lite in Plum
- Felt in a variety of fall colors (Cricut Felt from Sky Sampler and Carousel Sampler)
- fabric glue or glue gun and glue sticks
Instructions:
Cut words from iron on, being sure to mirror the design and place iron on right side down on the mat.
Use rotary blade to cut the leaves from felt.
Place the words on the canvas banner and once you have decided on the placement press in place.
Place leaves on the banner and once you like the placement use fabric glue or hot glue to glue in place.
By the way this card was so much awesome. I like all the cards very much. Keep enjoying. Best Pull Up Banners
