Today I am excited to share a new crocheted washcloth pattern as part of the Washcloth Crochet Along with CAL Central. You can find all of the details about the crochet along, including links to the other washcloth patterns and prizes you can win HERE.

The crochet along started in the middle of June and goes through the end of August so we are about halfway through. There will be 10 designs total, one each week and this is number 5.

All of the washcloths in this crochet along are made with Paintbox Cotton DK yarn. I usually use a worsted weight cotton when I make washcloths or dishcloths. The thinner Dk yarn made a lighter, daintier cloth. Although they would be great for anyone, I think these would make really great baby washcloths.

I wanted to something similar to my Colorblock Trinity Stitch Washcloths with one main color and a second coordinating color section at the top, but using a different stitch. For these washcloths I chose the wattle stitch (obviously, since that is the name of the pattern) and I chose to use two shades of one color rather than 2 completely different colors.

The pink cloth is made using Ballet Pink as the main color, and Blush Pink for the contrast top. Both pinks are so pretty.

For the orange cloth I used Peach Orange for the main section and Vintage Pink as the contrasting top section. I know it is called Vintage "Pink" but it is a sort of salmon color that I thought worked with the peach. The orange was probably a little more out of my comfort zone, not my go to color scheme and it was kind of fun to try something new.
