Now that March has arrived the weather is starting to feel a lot more like spring and I am definitely feeling ready for it, including working on spring and Easter crafts.
I actually shared today's project a week or so ago on Instagram, so if you follow me there you may have already seen it. I had the opportunity to work with Oriental Trading on some Easter themed projects and shared some of that on Instagram but I wanted to do a full tutorial here on the blog as well.
I ordered a bunny shaped grapevine wreath from Oriental Trading, but I didn't want to just leave it plain so I also picked up a greenery garland to turn the grapevine bunny wreath into a greenery bunny wreath. In addition to the greenery and the wreath all you will need is some floral wire and ribbon.
I love the bright green for Easter and Spring, since spring is the time when things start to grow and turn green again. I added a burlap ribbon around the neck but I think a ribbon in a springy color would also look great.
How to Make an Easter Bunny Greenery Wreath
You will need:
- Grapevine Bunny Wreath
- Greenery Garland
- Floral Wire
- Burlap Ribbon (or other ribbon)
Instructions:
The first thing you will need to do is get your greenery pieces ready. The garland I used the little leaf sections were pretty easy to pull off and I still had plenty of garland left to use as an actual garland.
Once you have several leaf sections you can start attaching them to the wreath base. Use the floral wire to wrap the leaf sections one at a time to the wreath, overlapping the bottom part of each section with the leaves of the next.
Continue adding leaf sections and attaching them to the wreath with floral wire until you have covered the front of the whole wreath.
Add a bow to the neck of the bunny (the burlap ribbon I used was really wide so I had to cut it down to make it the right size), I tied the ribbon in a bow, then used floral wire to attach it to the wreath.
