My scrubbie is a small round scrubbie that uses a few different stitches to create a variety of textures. I intended it as more of a face scrubbie than anything else, I think the small size and shape make it perfect for cleaning your face or removing makeup.
The Ring-Around Scrubbie is made of a ring of puff stitches around a spoke like center made with post stitches, and finished off with a round of single crochet. The puff stitches and the post stitches give them just enough texture to make them nice for scrubbing but still soft and gentle against your skin.
The small size makes these scrubbies a quick and easy project to make, and a great way to use up leftover cotton yarn.
How to Crochet Ring-Around Scrubbies
Finished Size: 4 inches across
You will need:
- medium weight 100% cotton yarn (I used Darice Essential Cotton in White and Bubblegum)
- H crochet hook
- yarn needle
- scissors
Instructions:
Special Stitches:
FPSC: insert your hook around the post of the stitch from front to back and back to the front, yarn over and pull around post, yarn over and pull through loops on hook
Puff Stitch: yarn over, insert hook in stitch, pull up loop, yarn over, insert in stitch, pull up loop, yarn over, insert in stitch, pull up loop, yarn over, pull through all 7 loops on hook
begin with a magic ring
Round 1: in mr, ch 3 (counts as first dc), 11 dc, sl st to the beginning ch (12 dc)
Round 2: ch 1, [2 sc in first stitch, fpsc in next stitch] repeat around, sl st to first sc to join (18 sc)
Round 3: ch 2, [puff stitch in first stitch, ch 1] repeat in each stitch around, sl st to first puff to join (18 puff stitches, 18 ch)
Roung 4: sl st into space between first 2 puffs, ch 1, [2 sc in space between puffs] repeat around, sl st into first sc (36 sc)
Finish off, weave in ends
