A couple of years ago I made the pattern for my Bead Stitch Hat and when it comes to wearables it is probably my favorite thing I have crocheted. I have made several since then, including in a few different sizes, and I also have taken that pattern and tweaked it and changed up the stitches to make different variations.
I really love the different hats that have come from this pattern and today I am sharing another variation. This one is a little different than the other variations I have made because the others have kept most of the pattern the same, switching out the bead stitch rows and replacing them with a different stitch. This time I kept all of the same stitches but changed the number of rounds.
It is definitely not hat whether here yet, it is still 90 degrees out every day, but I think this time of the year, as kids are getting ready to head back to school and fall is just around the corner, I start feeling ready for fall with its cooler weather. And of course, cooler weather means crocheting lots of hats and scarves.
I have several different hats in the works that I plan on making and sharing over the next few weeks, so this is the first with more to come.
The original Bead Stitch Hat pattern alternated 3 rounds of Half Double Crochet in the Third Loop with a round of Bead Stitch. This hat still uses rounds of the same two stitches but alternating just one round of each. It is a little bit shorter than the original Bead Stitch Hat with a less slouchy fit.
