A couple of months ago I made the Criss Cross Hat and ever since then I have been wanting to make a matching cowl or scarf.
The main body of the Criss Cross Hat is made using a combination of crossed double crochet stitches, and half double and single crochet stitches. I used the same combination of stitches to make the matching cowl, but I added a post stitch ribbing, like that around the bottom of the hat, to the top and bottom edges of the cowl.
It matches the pattern of the Criss Cross Hat exactly, but it also coordinates with the Crossed Double Hat that you can see in the pictures. They both use the same combination of stitches, just in a slightly different order. So depending on whether you want a perfectly matching set, or more of a coordinating set, either one will work.
How to Crochet the Criss Cross Cowl
You will need:
- 1 skein medium weight yarn (I used Red Heart With Love in Aran)
- I crochet hook (5.5mm)
- yarn needle
- scissors
