The other day I was drawing some designs on my iPad for a project I will be sharing later this week and I ended up with 3 different designs, and only 2 of them that I planned on using for that project. Then later I was pulling out the supplies that I needed for the other project, and I came across these little metal buckets and the idea of these little treat buckets was born.
The metal buckets that I used are small, about 4 inches tall, and I thought they would be the perfect size for a little candy dish to set on a counter or a desk, or even to give as a little gift. I used some square buckets that I originally got from Oriental Trading to use for another project, but those exact ones are no longer available there. But I also had some round pails and made an example showing how that would work as well.
All you need in addition to a small bucket is some scraps of paper, I chose papers in halloween colors, but not specifically halloween prints, some ribbon, and some adhesive. Then print the hand lettered halloween designs, there are 6 designs on the page, 3 boo, and 3 trick or treat.
Then all that is left is to fill it with halloween candy. These would be cute as small gifts for teachers or neighbors.
Mini Halloween Treat Buckets
You will need:
- Small bucket or container, approx 4-6" tall (these square metal buckets are slightly larger than the ones I used but the closest I could find, or these metal pails are similar to the round bucket that I used)
- Handlettered Halloween printable
- scrapbook paper (I used scraps that I had on hand, but these halloween prints would be fun)
- ribbon
- paper cutter or scissors
- tape runner, hot glue, or other adhesive
Instructions:
Print the Handlettered Halloween Designs.
Cut out the designs using a paper cutter or scissors.
Cut the scrapbook paper into squares slightly larger than the lettered designs.
Glue the design onto the scrapbook paper.
Cut a piece of ribbon long enough to wrap around the bucket and glue the ribbon in place. Glue the paper to the front of the bucket centered over the ribbon.
Fill with candy and enjoy!
