Today is the ninth day of the Mini Amigurumi Advent, and today's pattern may not be the most Christmasy of all of them, but I think it is still pretty fun. I don't know why penguins so often end up as Christmas decorations when they live at the South Pole, rather than the North Pole, maybe just because they are animals that are associated with snow and winter? I don't know, but when I was trying to come up with 24 ideas for this series a penguin was one of the ones I came up with and I decided to go ahead with it regardless of whether or not is makes sense.
The funny thing is that this isn't even the first penguin I have made for Christmas. I have a penguin Christmas ornament that I made a few years ago too.
This little penguin is all ready for Christmas with a scarf around his its neck. It stands about 4" tall, black and white with a little yellow beak and feet.
This little guy is crocheted in multiple pieces and sewn together, the head and body are one piece, with the white face and stomach sewn on at the end, as well as the wings, beak, and feet. I used safety eyes on my penguin, but you could also embroider the eyes on.
