I can't believe we are already halfway through the Mini Amigurumi Advent. 12 days done, 12 more to go. I have had a lot of fun sharing these little characters every day, and I hope you are enjoying it too! The pattern for today is a little reindeer.
A reindeer was one of the first things I added to my list as I was coming up with ideas for the 24 patterns I wanted to make as part of this series. I felt like a reindeer was a must for a Christmas project like this. I was a little nervous about designing the pattern for this one, but I think it turned out super cute.
I debated how I wanted to attach the legs and ended up deciding to sew them on in a way that the reindeer is standing on two legs. You could also sew the legs on so that they are sticking out in front in more of a sitting position.
I used safety eyes and a safety nose to make the face. A red nose for Rudolph would be really cute but I stuck with black since that is what I had. You could embroider the eyes and nose if you prefer. I also added a little bell around the reindeer's neck.

Sew the legs to the side of the body (arms) and to the bottom of the body either in a standing or sitting position, whichever you prefer.
Collar
Make 1 in red yarn (or desired color)
The collar is just a ch long enough to wrap around the neck and I attached the bell halfway through by pulling a loop through the top of the bell and making a ch st, it was a little difficult to pull the yarn through the opening because of the size of the hole, so if you have a hard time doing it that way you can just stitch the bell on with thinner thread and needle
ch 10, attach bell in next ch, ch 9 (20 ch)
finish off and cut yarn, leaving long tail for sewing
wrap the ch around the neck, tie or stitch in place with the bell in front, and weave in ends
