Day 2 of the Spring Mini Amigurumi Crochet Along. Today is another little farm animal that you say a sneak peek of in my announcement post. The truth is those were some of the first ones I made, and I made them in order of how I planned to release them and once I had a few ready I took the pictures for the announcement, so you got a sneak peek of the first few days.
Today's animal is a little duck. I originally thought it would be cute to make the duck more the colors of a mallard duck with a green head, but I feel like ducks that you see on farms tend to be white ducks instead. Maybe that isn't the case but that is what I think of when I think of ducks on a farm so that is how I decided to make my little duck.
The duck used the same basic body as the pig, and the other animals for the most part. It has a little tail in the back and wings on the side. Then with orange yarn I added its little bill and two flat feet. Just like the pig I used small safety eyes for the eyes, but you could always embroider them instead.
Since the duck uses the same body and head pattern as the pig it sits the same size, about 3" tall. Just the right size to hold in your hand.
