For, I think, 4 out of the past 5 years I have participated in the Softie Crochet Along, and it is one of my favorite crochet alongs to participate in each year because stuffed animals/dolls are some of my favorite things to crochet.
In previous years I have made a Flamingo, a Dinosaur, a Robot, and a Dragon as my contribution to the Softie CAL. This year's softie is a little gray wolf.
I actually had something else in mind for this project, but Plan A didn't quite work out so I came up with something else that used the same colors as my original plan and the little Gray Wolf was born.
The finished wolf stands about 9" tall, or if you sew the legs on in a sitting position it would sit about 8" tall. He is made with Basic Stitch from Lion Brand (one of the CAL sponsors) in gray and white, with a tiny bit of pink in the ears.
Be sure to check out all of the Crochet Along Details to find all of the patterns that have been shared each week for the past couple of months, or that will be shared each week through the end of this month. Also learn how you can join the crochet along and enter to win prizes.
