We are at Day 8 of the Summer 2023 Mini Amigurumi Crochet Along. The pattern that I have for today is a tiny little tent.
As I was putting together the list of projects I wanted to include in this crochet along, my idea list was a lot longer than 12 and I had to narrow it down to which 12 I wanted to include. A tent was one of the first items I added to the list of ideas and it was one I knew I had to keep on the list. I know you can technically go camping without a tent, but it is one of the items I think is most associated with camping
This project is very different than the others included on the list because of the way it is constructed. All of the other projects use round shapes that are made by working in continuous rounds of single crochet. Since this little tent is not round at all, it is made up of triangles and rectangles, it is made a little differently.
The tent is made by crocheting flat pieces worked back and forth in rows and them stitching them together to make the 3D finished tent.

How to Crochet a Tiny Tent
Finished Size: about 2.5" tall and 4" long
You will need:
- medium weight yarn in 2 colors (sample made in Loops and Threads Impeccable in Fern and Forest)
- G crochet hook (4 mm)
- 2- 6 mm safety eyes
- black embroidery floss and needle
- Polyfil fiberfill
- yarn needle
- stitch markers
- scissors
Instructions:
The tent is made by crocheting flat pieces worked in back and forth rows of single crochet that are sewn together into a 3D shape. I used 2 shades of the same color for the tent, the lighter color for the front/inside and the other color for all of the other pieces/outside of the tent. You could use 2 completely different colors if you choose. Main color refers to the outside color that most of the pieces are made of, contrasting color refers to the color the front piece is made in.

Assembly
Stitch the pieces together using a whipstitch
Start by stitching the tent front, flaps, and sides together. For these you will be stitching through three layers, while the rest of the pieces will be just two layer. Place the edge of the flap on top of the front, lining up the edges, then line those up with one of the side piece edges and stitch all layers together.
Repeat that on the other side of the front with the other flap and side.
Stitch the 2 side pieces together along the top edge.
Stitch the bottom to the long edges of the sides and the bottom edge of the front.
Stuff the tent before sewing on the last piece, stuff it so it is fully stuffed but be careful not to overstuff or it will start to loose its triangle shape.
Stitch the back piece on to the opening in the back
