We have reached the halfway point in the Halloween crochet along with Day 6 today. Just a reminder that there will be no new pattern released tomorrow, Day 7 will be released on Monday. But back to today, the pattern for today is a little bottle of potion.

Unlike most potions at Halloween time there is nothing sinister about this little Petite Potion. It has a little smiley face on the label, half filled with potion, with a little cork on top.

For my potion I used the same lime green yarn that I used for the bubbling brew in my cauldron. You could use any color you want. I think bright colors would be especially fun, purple or orange would be fun and still have that Halloween vibe, or red or turquoise blue, or even black would be fun too.

For the bottle I chose a very pale blue/gray color because I wanted something that you kind of represent glass. I think for this any really pale kind of neutral color would work well, a pale gray or blue similar to what I used, or a light tan or cream color might give more of an aged bottle look. Then I used a couple shades of a tan color, one for the cork, and one for the label. For the cork I think you want to stick with a tan color that is similar to the color of a cork, but the label could again be any color. I chose kind of a grayish tan for my label, you could make it any color but the face will stand out best on a light color.

Even though this little bottle has a few different pieces and uses a few colors, more than some of the other designs in the series, it still works up fast thanks to its simple shape and small size.
