Easy Crocheted Napkin Rings

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. It always feels like November just flies by. It seems like Halloween was just yesterday and now we are halfway through November. It doesn't help that Thanksgiving is pretty early this year. I thought it would fun to share a super quick project that you could make for Thanksgiving, but it would work for any other time too. 

Since the main part of our Thanksgiving celebrations is usually a nice family dinner I thought it would be fun to make something that could be used at a dinner place setting. These simple crocheted napkin rings work up very fast. Each one only takes a few minutes to make. 

I had a skein of self striping variegated yarn in fall colors that I used for a pumpkin pattern last year and I thought this would be a good opportunity to use it again, but a solid color would work well too. In fact you could make them in any color to match any occasion or decor, I just used fall colors to go with Thanksgiving. 

The napkin ring is made flat with the moss stitch (or granite stitch, linen stitch, woven stitch, whatever you want to call it). It has 2 buttons on one end and button loops on the other. It takes only a few minutes to make one so you can make a whole set in no time at all. 

How to Crochet Easy Napkin Rings

You will need:

• worsted weight yarn (only need small amount for each napkin ring, samples mad with Hobby Lobby I love this yarn in Cinnamon Cedar)
• G crochet hook (4/4.25 mm)
• 2 buttons 
• yarn needle
• needle and thread

Instructions:

ch 10

Row 1: sc in second ch from hook and each ch to the end (9 sc)

Row 2: ch 1, turn sc in first st, [ch 1, sk 1 st, sc in next st] repeat to end (5, sc, 4 ch sp)

Row 3: ch 1, turn sc in first st, sc in ch sp, [ch 1, sk 1 st, sc in next ch sp] repeat until 1 st remaining, sc in last st (6, sc, 3 ch sp)

Row 4-23: repeat rows 2 and 3, 10 more times each (9 sts)

Row 24: ch 1, turn, sc in each st (9 sc)

Row 25: ch 1, turn, sc in first st, ch 3, sk 2 sts, 1 sc in each of next 3 sts, ch 3, sk 2, sc in last st (5 sc, 6, ch)

Finish off and weave in ends

Fold the strip into a ring, overlapping the ends slightly, to see where the buttons need to be placed. Sew 2 buttons to the beginning end, opposite the loops. Put the buttons through the loops to make the ring.
