It is Day 8 of the Pond Pals Mini Amigurumi Crochet Along, and for today's animal we have a Beautiful Butterfly.
The little butterfly is the biggest of all of the animals so far because of how big the wingspan is. It is jus over 4" tall but the wings are about 5" across when opened.
The butterfly is made with a body similar to the dragonfly, but a little fatter. Then the wings are made in 4 pieces, 2 for each side, 1 bigger piece on top and one smaller one on bottom. The two pieces are made separately and then attached together, then the full wing made of 2 pieces is sewn onto the body of the butterfly. It also has little anntenae on top of its head.
I used a variegated yarn to make the wings so that they would be extra colorful. You could definitely use a solid color instead.
With today's butterfly we are 2/3 of the way finished, only 4 more days to go. So far, with the first 8 patterns we have a Dragonfly, an Ant, a Hummingbird, a Worm, a Turtle, a Bee, a Mallard, and now the Butterfly. What will the next 4 animals be?
