I cannot believe it is already almost Halloween! I feel like October has just flown by for me. This time of year always does though. Once we hit October I feel like the months just start to fly by. We have Halloween in October so we are busy with preparing costumes and going to halloween activities and fall festivals at schools, church, and with family. Then we head straight into Thanksgiving and Christmas and all of the activities and parties and events that go along with those holidays.
This is a super quick and simple little project you could make for Halloween for anyone that you want to give a small halloween treat. A tiny treat bag with cute little ghosts on it that is easy enough for a last minute Halloween project. You can fill it with candy or any other treats you want. They would make fun favors for a Halloween party, or just a little treat to drop off to a friend.
This is one of those ideas that started with seeing the materials and getting the idea from there. I was at Hobby Lobby a while ago, just wandering around looking at craft supplies. Honestly that is one of my favorite things to do, I find a lot of inspiration looking at supplies and thinking about what I could make with them. Anyway, long story short I saw these little black drawstring favor bags and immediately thought they would make a fun halloween favor bag.
My first thought was to make a few different Halloween designs, and you could totally do that, but as I was thinking about what designs I wanted to use I decided that little white ghosts would be perfect on the black bags.
I found a cute ghost design that had three different ghosts in one design in Design Space. I wanted there to be a few different ghosts so that was perfect for what I had in mind.
Once I decided on a design making the bags was super quick and easy. All I needed was some white iron on vinyl (although glow in the dark would have been fun for this project too, especially if you were giving them out in the dark). Just cut out the vinyl, press it onto your drawstring favor bags, and in no time at all you have a cute little halloween treat.
How to Make Little Ghost Treat Bags
You will need:
- black drawstring favor bags (I used these ones from Hobby Lobby, but found this option on Amazon that looks similar but slightly smaller)
- Cricut
- white iron on vinyl
- Mini EasyPress and mat (or other heat press or iron)
Instructions:
Find the ghost designs that you want to use. I used design #M4E2D162A from design space (Ghosts by Sun Kim). This design was included in Cricut Access or can be purchased for $0.99.
Resize as needed to fit your bags.
Cut out the ghosts and weed your designs.
Press the little ghosts onto your favor bags.
Fill with tiny treats and give away!
