The weekly themes are:

Week 1 (November 1-7): Gifts for Home
Week 2 (November 8-14): Gifts for Women
Week 3 (November 15-21): Gifts for Babies, Kids, and Teens
Week 4 (November 22-28): Gifts for Anyone
Week 5 (November 29-December 3): Last-Minute Gifts

This week is Week 3, which means the gifts are for Babies, Kids, and Teens. One thing my kids always fight over when I make them is stuffed animals or plushies of some kind. The softer and squishier the better. My teenagers like them, all the way down to when I had babies and toddlers. So when I was thinking of something that would be a good gift idea for babies, kids, and teens I decided some sort of plushie was what I wanted to make.

I wanted it to be a little bit Christmasy or festive so I decided on a Christmas Tree Plush. I made it with blanket yarn so it is super soft and super squishy. I used big safety eyes and a little embroidered mouth to make a cute little smiley fave on the plushie, but I would definitely recommend either embroidering the eyes or leaving the face off completely if you are making it for a baby or younger child. My kids are older so I feel like they are safe with the safety eyes and I prefer the look of them, so that is what I chose to use.

You could make this little tree plushie just a plain little tree by leaving the star off the top, or you could make it even more festive by adding more decorations, maybe adding some chain garlands or little circle ornaments. I think it would be cute however you choose to make it.

With the Bernat Blanket Yarn that I used the Christmas Tree Plushie is about 12" tall and about 9" wide at the widest point. There are a lot of plush/chenille/blanket yarns out there and if you use a different one your tree might turn out slightly smaller or larger. I used Bernat Blanket Mist-ical which has some color variation in it that I think gives a fun look to the finished tree.
