It has been a minute since we have had a Mini Amigurumi Crochet Along. This year I was a little later than I had planned doing the summer crochet along, which put it a little too close to when I planned to do the fall crochet along and because I didn't want to have to rush it I ended up just skipping the fall crochet along for this year. But now Christmas time is here which means it is finally time for the next mini amigurumi crochet along. I was going back and forth between a couple of different themes but ended up deciding on...

A Nativity Theme!

I have a crocheted nativity pattern that I made several years ago, and it has been one of my most popular patterns this time each year. I love that pattern, it is one of my favorite things I have made. I have added a few things to it over the years, wise men, and an angel, as well as making a smaller mini nativity. My original nativity the figures were about 6-8" tall. The mini nativity figures are about 4" tall. This one will be similar in size and design to the mini version, but with a few little changes and a lot more pieces.

Like with the other Mini Amigurumi Crochet Alongs there will be a total of 12 patterns released one a day for 12 days. Each one will be a small amigurumi (about 3-5" tall) that fits with the theme of the crochet along, in this case nativity figures. Keep reading for all of the details you need to know.

Nativity Crochet Along Details:

When- The 2024 Christmas Mini Amigurumi Little Nativity Crochet Along will begin on Sunday December 1. It will run for 12 days, ending on December 12. One pattern will be released each day during the crochet along. For anyone who has participated in my Mini Amigurumi Crochet Alongs in the past this is a change from the way it has been, there will be no break in the middle, but instead 12 days straight.

How Does it Work-  A new pattern will be released each day of the crochet along for a Mini Amigurumi that fits the theme (in this case Nativity). The pattern will be posted for free on my blog, where it will remain indefinitely, this means that you can join or start up at any time, even after the crochet along is over. I will post the link to the new pattern each day on social media, as well as at the end of this post (this will be sort of a landing page for the crochet along). Once all 12 patterns have been posted I will release an ebook that will be available for purchase on Etsy and Ravelry that will include all 12 patterns. This is a great option for anyone who wants an ad-free, printable, PDF version of the patterns with all 12 in one place, but they will still remain free on my blog on their individual posts.

What do you need- Now let's talk supplies. This is a great project for using up scrap yarns that you may have in your stash, and for a lot of the projects you can use any color you want. For this particular crochet along you will want some tans or browns for skin tone as well as other neutrals like white and gray. For the clothing I went for kind of a muted palette with lots of tans/browns/creams, then a few brighter/deeper colors for the wise men (more of a royal vibe). You could purchase yarn in the color pallet you want, purchase a coordinating kit like the one I used for the dinosaur crochet along that has several colors in mini skeins in one set, or you can use what you have on hand if you have a stash of yarn. I use worsted weight acrylic yarn for my mini amigurumi.
